Poets’ Pie is an initiative to bring contemporary poetry to the forefront of personal thought, mass culture and world markets.

This quote from Matthew Arnold remains true today as it did in 1880 when he wrote it.

More and more mankind will discover that we have to turn to poetry to interpret life for us, to console us, to sustain us. Without poetry, our science will appear incomplete; and most of what now passes with us for religion and philosophy will be replaced by poetry. Science, I say, will appear incomplete without it.

If we replace the word “science” with “technology”, it reveals an element of our motto:

We believe technology is incomplete without poetry.

We work to disprove these quotes from Charles Bernstein, “At present and in the conceivable future, there is no profit to be gained by the sale of recorded poetry.”, and Robert Graves There’s no money in poetry, but then there’s no poetry in money, either.”

In an age where it is necessary to compete with the clanging channels of society, poems offer brevity, compressed thought, and clarity that lifts above the clamor of the time.  Poems are both the substance and the agent of our individuality in this era of mashed communication. Poems rise above the competitive plane.

Poems can transform our lives; Poems can provide riches and fulfill dreams.

Poets’ Pie is a master teacher, leading each of us toward the poetic existence that we unknowingly yearn for.
